Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum)


One of the sacred plants of the Hindu, this highly aromatic herb is used in many tea blends. Reminiscent of Basil, a close relative, with floral undertones. A tender perennial, can be grown as an annual in our climate. Pinch purple flowering tops to encourage bushing of this small shrubby plant. Dry leaves and flowering tops for tea. Harvest until frost or pot plants up and bring into sunny window for winter time. Full sun to part shade. grows like basil to 12” high.
